To create paper snowflakes, you can use construction paper, newsprint, or printer paper. You should avoid using thick paper because it will be hard to cut out. Any size will do; however, it is recommended to use standard letter-sized (8.5" x 11") printer paper.

If you only have legal-sized paper (8.5" x 14"), you can construct two additional little snowflakes from the leftovers. Or you can make extra-large snowflakes if you have some tabloid newspaper (11 x 17). Try parchment paper if you're having problems cutting through printer paper. Because parchment paper is much thinner than ordinary paper, cutting this is easier.
