How to Make an Easy Origami Elephant

Learn how to fold an easy origami elephant head with simple step-by-step photos and instructions. Even young kids can make one.

Step 1

Start with a square piece of origami paper. I am using an 7×7 inches origami paper.

If you only have regular paper, follow these instructions on how to make a square origami paper.

Step 2

Rotate the paper diagonally.

Step 3

Fold paper in half by folding the top corner to the bottom corner.

Step 4

To make crease in the middle, fold in half again by folding left corner to right corner.

Step 5

Unfold.

Step 6

Fold the left edge of the triangle to the center crease.

Step 7

Fold the right edge of the triangle to the center crease.

Step 8

Fold the top left corner to the side.

Step 9

Fold the right top corner to the side.

Step 10

Fold the left and right corners in like this.

Step 11

Turn the figure over.

Step 12

Fold up the elephant’s trunk.

Step 13

Fold in back down like this.

Step 14

Keep folding the trunk up and down like an accordian.

Step 15

Pull out the elephants trunk.

Step 16

Add some eyes to make it look more cute. And here you have your very own paper Elephant!
