How to Make an Easy Origami Tie

Step 1

Start with a square piece of origami paper. I am using an 7×7 inches origami paper.

If you only have regular paper, follow these instructions on how to make a square origami paper.

Step 2

Rotate your paper to make a diamond shape.

Step 3

Fold in half from right to left.

Step 4

Unfold.

Step 5

Fold the right corner into the middle.

Step 6

Fold the left corner into the middle.

Step 7

Fold the left side to meet the centre crease

Step 8

Repeat and fold the right corner into the middle.

Step 9

Fold down the top point to make a small triangle flap.

Step 10

Turn the model over.

Step 11

Fold the top half to the center crease.

Step 12

Fold the top part backover.

Step 13

Turn the model over.

Step 14

Take the right corner of the ‘Z’ flap and fold it in to meet the centre crease.

Step 15

Repeat on the left side.

Step 16

Open the right side as shown and press it flat to make a skinny triangle that runs from the top down to become thinner at the bottom.

Step 17

Repeat on the left side.

Step 18

Turn the model over and voila!
