Easy Origami Heart Envelope Instructions

Learn how to make an origami heart envelope. Easy, step-by-step instructions will guide your way to make this beautiful origami.

The origami heart envelope is very easy to make and also pretty and useful at the same time. This is the perfect envelope to hold your note in to give to your sweetheart and also makes a great replacement for Valentine’s cards.

If you have experience folding origami, some of the early steps will be extremely easy. However, even if this is your first time, the steps are still very easy as long as you follow the step-by-step instructions. Pictures are included to guide you along the way. You’ll be able to fold an origami heart envelope in just a few minutes.

Step 1

Start with a square piece of origami paper. I am using an 7×7 inches origami paper.

If you only have regular paper, follow these instructions on how to make a square origami paper.

Step 2

If you are using a two sided color paper then face the darker side upwards and move the paper diagonally.

Step 3

Fold the paper in half by folding the top corner to the bottom corner.

Step 4

Fold the left corner to the right corner.

Step 5

Fold the top layer in half by folding the right corner to the bottom corner.

Step 6

Unfold the top layer. We only want the crease.

Step 7

To squash fold, open the top layer at the creases you just made.

Step 8

Squash fold the top layer by flattening it down.

Step 9

Step 10

Turn over.

Step 11

Fold the left corner to the bottom corner.

Squash fold the left flap using the crease you just made.

Step 15

Press the crease firmly.

Step 16

Turn the figure upside down.

Step 17

Fold the top layer down as shown, not all the way down.

Step 18

Flip over the model.

Step 19

Fold the top layer down as shown, not all the way down.

Step 20

Fold the top right flap down to the side as shown.

Step 21

Fold the top left flap down to the side as shown.

Step 22

Now fold a small portion of the top corners as shown.

Step 23

Fold in the left and right corners as shown.

Step 24

Just turn the figure around and you’ll have a working origami heart envelope.
