How to Make an Origami Heart with Wings

As you can see, the origami heart with wings is a wonderful piece of work. It’s really neat how the wings are shaped like that and are able to protrude out to the sides the way they do. The origami heart with wings is sure to amaze kids and adults alike. It also makes a wonderful “post-it” note that is certain to brighten up someone’s day, but you’ll have to add your own adhesive.

There are a couple of folds that require some maneuvering to accomplish, but they’re by no means intricate or difficult. The pictures I took do an outstanding job of explaining the steps, so there should be minimal complications.

Step 1

Start with a square piece of origami paper. I am using an 7×7 inches origami paper.

If you only have regular paper, follow these instructions on how to make a square origami paper.

Step 2

If you are using two color sided origami paper then face the lighter side upwards.

Step 3

Fold the paper in half, top to bottom.

Step 4

Unfold.

Step 5

Fold in half again, left to right.

Step 6

Unfold. You now have two creases where the dotted gray lines go in the image.

Step 7

Fold the bottom as shown.

Step 8

Turn the paper over.

Step 9

Fold the right bottom corner to the center.

Step 10

Fold the left bottom corner to the center.

Step 11

Open the left flap.

Step 12

Fold the top part of the left flap in while tucking the crease under the almost triangular shaped layer below.

Now flatten the layer.

Step 14

Repeat on the right side too.

Turn the figure over.

Step 16

Fold the top down.

Step 17

Fold that same flap in half.

Step 18

Unfold.

Step 19

Open the lower half and crease the corners of both sides while pushing the center down.

Step 20

Now flatten.

Step 21

Fold the trapezoid up in half.

Step 22

Fold that little half down in half again.

Step 23

Fold the entire trapezoid up.

Step 24

Now fold that downwards in half.

Step 25

Fan out the trapezoid down.

Step 26

Pinch the middle with one hand while keeping the sides fanned out with your other hand.

Step 27

Fold the top inner and outer corners as shown.

Step 28

Turn the figure over and see the magic happen before your very eyes. Voila!
